Sibylla：What becomes of us？
シビラ：私たちはどうなるの？
Balian ：The world will decide. The world always decides.
バリアン：この世が決めるでしょう。物事を決めるのは常に世の中ですから。
〔急使到着〕
Almaric : My lord, the king is marching on/for(?) Kerak.
アルマリック：バリアン殿、王がカラクへ向かって進軍しておられます。
〔カラク前、逃げ惑う民〕
Almaric : Saracen cavaliers. They're coming to (???) Reynald (???)
アルマリック：サラセンの騎士たちです。彼らは（？）に向かってきます。ルノー殿は（？）。
These people are not safe outside the walls.
あの民たちは城壁の外では危険です。
Saladin will certainly come behind them.
サラディンがきっと彼らの背後を襲うでしょう。
Balian ：(To Sibylla) Go into the fortress now.
バリアン：（シビラに）さあ早く、砦の中にお入りなさい。
Reynald：Look at her! (?)
ルノー：シビラ姫だ！（？）
Reynald's man：My lord Balian! My lord Balian!
ルノーの家臣：卿！ バリアン卿！
My lord Reynald prays you bring your horse to Kerak.
我が殿ルノー卿より、貴卿は騎兵を連れてカラク城へお入りあれ、とのことです。
Balian ：Thank you, but no. If we do, these people will die.
バリアン：かたじけない。だが配慮は無用だ。もし我々が城に引き上げれば、あの民たちは死んでしまう。
We hold the Saracen cavalier till the king arrives.
我々は王が到着されるまで、サラセンの騎士を食い止める。
Reynald's man：So be it.
ルノーの家臣：では、そのように。
Almaric : We cannot protect them/that(?) and live.
アルマリック：私たちでは民を守って生き延びることはできません。
Reynald：What d'you look at?
ルノー：何を見ておられるのですか？
Sybilla：A knight. His men.
シビラ：騎士を。彼の兵たちを。
Balian ：(To Almaric) Are you with me?
バリアン：（アルマリックに）お前は私と一緒に来てくれるか？
Almaric：(Smiles)
アルマリック：（微笑する）
〔騎馬戦闘開始〕
〔バリアン昏倒、将の前に引き据えられる〕
Nasir ：Your/Good(?) quality will be known among your enemies before you ever meet them, my friend.
ナジール：君の人柄は敵の間にも知られるだろう。君が敵と相まみえるより先に。友よ。
Balian ：You're not that manservant.
バリアン：あんたは従者ではなかったのか。
Nasir ：No. He was MY servant.
ナジール：違う。彼のほうが私の家臣だった。
Balian ：What becomes of us?
バリアン：我々はどうなる？
Nasir ：As you desire. "You reap what you sow". You have heard of this, no? Get up.
ナジール：君のしたいように。”人は己が蒔いた種を刈り取る”この言葉を耳にしたことがあるだろう、聞いたことがないか？ 立ちなさい。
You may go into Kerak, but you will die there. My master is here.
君はカラク城に入ってよいが、そこで死ぬだろう。私の主君がここに来ている。
(To his soldier) Tell my lord Salahadin that Jerusalem is come.
（配下の兵に対して）我が君サラディンに、エルサレム王がお越しであると伝えよ。
Sybilla：Salah -ad Din ...

シビラ：王の意向を拒むとは！

Balian ：Do you think I'm like Guy? That I would sell my soul?
バリアン：あなたは私がギィのような男だと思っているのですか？ 私が自分の心を売り渡すとでも？
Sibylla：(Turns away) There will be a day, when you'll wish you had done the little evil to do a greater good.
シビラ：（背を向けて）いつかあなたは、より大きな善いことを為すためには、小さな悪をしておけばよかったのにと思う日が来るでしょう。

〔暗殺者たちの襲撃〕
Balian ：Is this why you came to the Holy Land? Come on !
バリアン：こんなことをするために、お前達は聖地にやって来たのか？ かかって来い！
〔エルサレム全軍召集〕
Guy ：Now this assembly of barons and all Jerusalem is complete.
ギィ：さてここに、領主たちと全エルサレム軍の招集が完了した。
There are those among you who may disagree with our succession.
そちらの中には、余とシビラ姫の王位承継に賛成でない者も居るやもしれぬ。
But it is war.〔賛同の声〕
しかし、今は戦争なのだ。
And I am ...〔バリアン到着〕...the King.
そして私は･･･王である。

我らは直ちに出陣する。この会議の意見はどうか？
Crusaders：Aye! Aye! Aye!
十字軍兵士たち：賛成だ！ 賛成だ！
Balian：No. If you must have war, this army cannot move away from water.
バリアン：いけません。もし戦さをしなければならないとしても、軍は水から離れては動けません。
You have a chance to hold the city.
この街を守る見込みはあります。
But if you move out against Saladin, this army will be destroyed and the city left defenseless.
しかし、もしサラディン軍に対して打って出るなら、軍は滅ぼされ、街は守り手なしに残されることになるでしょう。
Guy ： When I wish a blacksmith to advise me on war, I will tell him.
ギィ：余は戦さについて鍛冶屋に助言を求めたい時は、そう申すぞ。
Balian：Saladin wants you to come out.
バリアン：サラディンはあなた方が出て来るのを待ち望んでいます。
He is waiting for you to make that mistake. He knows his man.
彼はあなた方が間違いを犯すのを待っています。彼は自分の兵力を心得ているのです。
High Priest(?)：We should meet the enemies of God！
司祭：我らは神の敵とまみえねばならぬ！
Guy ：And so we shall！

Balian ：Mark 400.
バリアン：400に印をつけろ。
Soldiers：400！ 400！

Balian ：They are here.
バリアン：彼らが来た。
Almaric ：It is only one man.
アルマリック：一人だけです。
Balian ：No. They are here.
バリアン：いや。サラディン軍が来たのだ。

Balian ：This is the only section of the wall they can attack.
バリアン：ここは城壁のうちで、彼らが攻撃できる唯一の場所だ。
Once they begin bombarding the walls, they will stop only to avoid(???) their own siege towers (???) they come in.
彼らが一旦、城壁を砲撃し始めたら、止めるのは、彼らが城壁に取り付いた時に、彼ら自身の攻城塔を（破壊？）しないようにするためだけだろう。
Take the bombardment, and when they cease firing, we fire.
砲撃に耐えるんだ。彼らが撃つのを止めたら、こちらが撃つ。
Patriarch：We must leave the city.
大司教：私たちはこの街から逃げなければなりません。
Balian ：How exactly, my lord bishop?
バリアン：まさにその通りです、司教様。
Patriarch：The fastest horse, from the lesser gate.
大司教：最も速い馬で、最も小さな門から。
Balian ：And the people?
バリアン：それで民たちはどうしますか？
Patriarch：It is unfortunate about the people, but it is God's will.
大司教：民たちにとっては不運なことだが、しかしこれも神のご意志だ。
〔バリアンの演説〕
Patriarch： My lord, my lord. My lord, how will you defend Jerusalem without knights?
大司教：卿、バリアン卿、騎士なしでどうやってエルサレムを守るつもりですか。
We have no knights!
私たちには騎士がおらぬのですぞ！
Balian ：Truly?
バリアン：そうですか？
(To a boy) What is your condition?
（少年に）お前の地位は何か？
Peasant Boy：I'm a servant to the patria(rch).
小作農の少年：僕は大司教様の召使いです。
Patriarch：This is one of my servants.
大司教：この子は私の召使いの一人です。
Balian ：Is he? You're born a servant? Kneel.
バリアン：そうですか。君は召使いの生まれなだな？ ひざまづけ。
Every man at arms, or capable of bearing them！ Kneel!
武装している者、武器を取ることのできる者は皆、ひざまづけ！
On your knees!
全員、ひざまづくのだ！
Be without fear in the face of your enemies.
恐れることなく、敵に立ち向かえ。
Be brave and upright that God may love thee.
勇気と正義の心を持て、神が汝を嘉（よみ）し給うべく。
Speak the truth, even if it leads to your death.
真実を語れ、たとえ其が死をもたらそうとも。
Safeguard the helpless. That is your oath.
弱き者を守護せよ。それがお前の誓いだ。

Soldier ：My lord?
兵士：殿？
Balian ：No.
バリアン：だめだ。
Almaric ：When will it begin?
アルマリック：攻撃はいつ始まるのでしょう。
Balian ：Soon.
バリアン：すぐだ。

Balian ：That was only the first day. There may be a hundred more.
バリアン：まだ初日が済んだばかりだ。これが百日も続くかもしれない。
Almaric ：Saladin will show no mercy.
アルマリック：サラディンは慈悲は見せないでしょう。
Balian ：We must hold out, force him to offer terms.
バリアン：我々は持ちこたえて、彼が停戦条件を持ち出すように強制しなければならない。
Almaric ：What terms?
アルマリック：どんな条件です？
Balian ：We fight for the people. Their safety and freedom.
バリアン：我々は民たちのために戦っているんだ。民の安全と自由さ。
Patriarch：If the bodies are burnt, they(?) cannot be resurrected until the Judgement day.
大司教：もし遺体を焼かれたら、彼らは最後の審判の日に復活できないぞ。
Balian ：If we do not burn these bodies, we'll all be dead of disease in three days.
バリアン：この遺体を焼かなければ、３日のうちに我々は皆、病気で死んでしまう。
God will understand, my lord. And if he doesn't, then he is not God.

Almaric ：They will ask for terms. They must ask for terms.

Patriarch：Convert to Islam, repent later.
大司教：イスラム教に改宗しよう。後で懺悔（ざんげ）すればよい。
Balian ：You've told me a lot about religion, your Eminence.
バリアン：あなたは宗教について私に多くのことを教えてくださいましたよ、猊下（げいか）。
〔サラディンとの交渉を終えて〕
Balian ：I have surrendered Jerusalem. All will be safely escorted to the sea.

If this is the "Kingdom of Heaven", let God do it as he wills.
もしこれが「天の王国」なら、神がご意志の通りになされますように。
〔シビラの部屋入り口〕
Balian ：Your brother's kingdom was here, and here.

That kingdom can never be surrendered.

Sibylla ：What should I do? I'm still the queen of Akko, Ascalon, and Tripoli.

Balian ：Decide not to be a queen. And I will come to you.

Nasir ：And if God does not love you, how could you have done all the things that you've done?
ナジール：もし神が君を愛しておられないのなら、どうやって君はそれだけのことを出来たのかね？
