いや小説でも、 "what in the world," he muttered. とか "Who knows..."

    One of many様

One of many -(2005/06/20(Mon) 07:42:07)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    (Very good horse.)
Take the horse, and be back to your business.
(This is your prize of a/the? battle. I am your prisoner,
    your slave, should you wish.)
I have been a slave, or very near to one. I will never (以下不明)
(The man you killed was a great cavalier among Muslims. )
    I will pray for him.

(Sibylla : Where is your master?)
    I have none.
(Sibylla : Give me some water. Thank you for the drink .
If you happen to see Balian, the son of Godfrey,
    tell him that Sibylla called.)

(To Sibylla) This morning I spoke without knowing who you are.
(Sibylla : I knew who you are. It's unmistakable.
I loved your father, and (shall/sure?) love you. Do you fear being with
    me?)
    No. And yes.
Tiberias thinks me unpredictable. I am. Unpredictable.
    No. There.

(Sibylla : I'm on my way to Kana, where Jesus changed water to wine.
(?) What a better trick (would be ?) to change you to a noble
    man?)
That should be easy. In France, a few yards of silk can make a noble man.
(Sibylla : I expect your hospitality.)
    It is given.

    (Sibylla : What?)
It seems years (since?) I haven't seen a woman eat.
(Sibylla : Truly? I was watching you today. If you given a touch of dirt,
it seems, you will build a new Jerusalem here.)
Here(?) is my place. (???) if I didn't try to make it better?

(Sibylla : They try to be one. One heart, one morality.
Their prophet says "Submit", Jesus says "Decide".)
    Did you decide on Guy?
(Sibylla : Guy was chosen by my mother. I was fifteen at the time.)

(Sibylla : Why do you think I'm here?)
I know (???) not on (your?) way to Kana.
(Sibylla : What else do you know, my lord?)
I know that you are a princess, and I am no lord.
    (Sibylla : A knight.)
    Neither earned, nor proved.
(Sibylla : I'm not here with you because I'm bored or wicked. I'm here
because...because in the East, between one person and another, there is
    only light.)

(Sibylla : What becomes of us?)
The world will decide. The world will always decide.

(Almaric : My lord, the king is marching on/for? Kerak.)

(Almaric: These people are not safe outside the walls.
Saladin will certainly come behind them.)
(To Sibylla) Go into the fortress now.

My lord, my lord.
My lord Reynald prays(?) you bring your horse to Kerak.
Thank you, but no. If we do, these people will die.
We hold the Saracen (???) till the king arrives.
    (So be it.)

(Almaric : We cannot attack that. (???)
(To Almaric) Are you with me?

You were not the man's servant.
    (No. He was MY servant.)
    What becomes of us?
(As you desire. "You reap what you sow". You have heard of this, no?
Get up. You may go into Kerak, but you will die there. My master is here.
Tell my lord Salahadin. (The?)Jerusalem is come.)

    Sibylla!
(Sibylla : (?) you refused the king? I am what I am.
I offer you that. And the world... You say no.)
Do you think I'm like Guy? That I would sell my soul?
(Sibylla : There will be a day, when you wish(ed) you have done a little
evil to do a greater good.)

Is it why you came to the Holy Land? Come on !

(Guy : We march at once. What say this council?)
No. If you must have war, this army cannot move away from water.
You have a chance to hold the city. But if you move out against Saladin,
this army will be destroyed and the city left defenseless.
(Guy : When I wish a blacksmith to advise me on war, I will tell him.)
Saladin wants you to come out. He is waiting for you to make that mistake.
    He knows this(?) man.

(Sibylla : When Saladin comes, we are not defensible.
Save the people from what I have done.)
    I will.

    (We must leave the city.)
    How exactly, my lord bishop?
(The fastest horse from the lesser(?) gate.)
    And the people?
( It(?) is unfortunate about the people, but it is God's will.)

(My lord, my lord. My lord, how will you defend Jerusalem without
    knights? We have no knights!)
    Truly?
    What is your condition?
    (I'm a servant to the patria(--rch.) )
(This is one of my servants.)
Is he? You are/were? born a servant? Kneel.
Every man at arms, or capable of bearing them! Kneel!
    On your knees!
Be without fear in the face of your enemies.
Be brave and upright that God may love thee.
Speak the truth, even if it leads to your death.
Safegurad the helpless. That is your oath. And that is so you remember it.
Rise a knight! Rise a knight!!
(Who do you think you are? You alter the world?
Does making a man a knight make him a better fighter?)
    Yes.

    (My lord?)
    No.
(Almaric : When will it begin?)
    Soon.

(To Almaric) That was only the/a? first day. There may be (a) hundred more.
(Almaric : Saladin will show no mercy.)
We must hold out (and) force him to offer terms.
    (Almaric : What terms?)
We fight for the people, their safety and freedom.

(If the body is burned, it cannot be resurrected
    until the Judgement day/time.)
If we do not burn these bodies, we'll all be dead of disease in three
    days.
God will understand, my lord. If he does not understand, then he is not
    God.
    And we need not worry.

This is where we all make a stand. We must prepare.

When this wall comes down, there will be no quarter.
If you draw down your arms, your families will die.
We can break this army here. So, why (???) let them come?
    Let them come! Come on!

I have surrendered Jerusalem. All will be safely escorted to the sea.
If this is the "Kingdom of Heaven", let God do it as he wills.

Your brother's kingdom was here, and here.
That kingdom can never be surrendered.
(Sibylla : What should I do? I'm stiil the queen of Akko,Ascalon, and
    Tripoli.)
Decide not to be a queen. And I will come to you.

A queen never walks. And yet you are walking.

(We crusade to recover the kingdom of Jerusalem.)
You go to where the man speak Italian, and continue till they speak
    something else.
(We've come by this road to find Balian, who was a defender of Jerusalem.)
    I am a blacksmith.
(And I am the King of England.)
    I am a blacksmith.

    イタリア語の文法は学んだことが無いので、完璧な解説は出来ないですが、手持ちのイタリア語の辞書では

    falcone=鷹狩りの鷹 (falcoなら鷹)
    posto=位置・地位など (英語のpositionとほぼ同義だと思う)

    となっていました。

    天空の鷹が獲物を狙っているような構え、という意味でしょうかね?

       〔夜、サラセン人ひとりが宣戦布告に登場〕
    soldier :My lord?
    Balian :No.
    Almaric :When will it begin?
    Balian :Soon.
    ------------
Balian :That was only the first day. There may be a hundred more.
Almaric :Saladin will show no mercy.
Balian :We must hold out, force him to offer terms.
    Almaric :What terms?
Balian :We fight for the people. Their safety and freedom.

Patriarch:(If the bodis are burnt, they?) cannot be resurrected until the Judgement day.
Balian :If we do not burn these bodies, we'll all be dead of disease in three days.
God will understand, my lord. And if he doesn't,
then he is not God. And we need not worry.
    ----------
This is where we all make a stand. We must prepare.
    ----------
When this wall comes down, there will be no quarter.
If you throw down your arms, your families will die.
We can break this army here. So I say, let them come!
      Let them come! Come on!

Almaric :They will ask for terms. They must ask for terms.
    Patriarc:Convert to Islam, repent later.
Balian :You've told me a lot about religion, your Eminence.

Balian :I have surrendered Jerusalem. All will be safely escorted to the sea.
If this is the "Kingdom of Heaven",
let God do with it as he wills.

Balian :Your brother's kingdom is here, and here.
That kingdom can never be surrendered.
Sibylla :What should I do? I'm stiil the queen of Akko,Ascalon, and
    Tripoli.
Balian :Decide not to be a queen. And I will come to you.

Nasir :This horse, is not a very good horse. I won't keep it.
    Balian : ...Thank you.
Nasir :And if God does not love you, how could you have done
all the things that you've done?
         Peace be upon you.
    Balian :Aleikom salam.

    ----------
Balian :A queen never walks. And yet you are walking.
    ----------
King's man:We crusade to recover the Kingdom of Jerusalem.
Balian :You go to where the men speak Italian, and continue
        till they speak something else.
Richard:We've come by this road to find Balian, who was a defender of Jerusalem.
    Balian :I am a blacksmith.
Richard:And I am the King of England.
    Balian :I am a/the blacksmith.

    Who are those men?
    (Muslims. Saracens.)
(And?) They are allowed to pray?
(If they pay the tax. God. It is proper to praise.)
    Sounds like our prayer(s.)

(When the king is dead, Jerusalem will be no place for friends of Muslims,
or traitors to Christendom like your father.
I am Guy de Lusignan. Remember that name, and me. Keep it.)
My lord! How will you ride if you have no stick to beat the horse?
(He will be king in/of? Jerusalem one day.)

    >No.3371

"I can go no further."
